How Stone Restoration Helps Sustainability

International Stoneworks is a restoration company based in Houston, TX, Jacqueline Tabbah joined the family business 11 years ago. Tabbah believes when we bring up the topic of sustainability in the stone industry there is a huge focus on fabricators and quarries and even how it can be recycled, such as with a mosaic.
“I think it’s important to think about the whole life cycle of stone when talking about sustainability,” said Tabbah. “So the quarry to the restoration. One of the arguments for natural stone is that it lasts forever. You think about the Egyptian Pyramids, they are still there.”
A lot of home owners want their countertops to continue to look their best and eventually over time there are two options, rip it all out and start all over or restore them.
